Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there!
for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Crossvine Church is an LGBT-friendly interfaith ministry based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, serving Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. We are are affiliated with the American Association of Wedding Officiants (AAWO), Fig Street Ministry, and the Association of Independent Churches (AoIC), and are the area's leading provider of non-denominational ceremony officiant and pastoral counseling services.

Our Pastor, Reverend Krissy Ramsey, is an ordained Interfaith Minister who holds a Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling from the Esoteric Interfaith Theological Seminary and an M.Ed. in Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is legally authorized to solemnize marriages in all 50 states and regards herself as a dedicated, dependable, easy-going professional. Reverend Ramsey is also a noted singer-songwriter of spiritually-conscious folk rock music with a critically-acclaimed album (On the Dying Breath of Wisdom) to her credit, and performs her music as part of her ministry.

Originally founded on April 17, 2013 as Chattanooga Wedding Officiants, our initial focus was on providing high-quality wedding officiant services. However, based on the feedback we received it soon became apparent that there existed a need for a ministry that would embrace a broader role in bridging the gaps within the spiritual life of our community. In response to this call we sought to create a space where people of diverse beliefs might meet to celebrate our common humanity and explore the possibility of living together at higher levels of consciousness. To wit, on July 14th, 2015, Crossvine Church was established as a reflection of this expanded mission.

Founded upon the "church without walls" model (Matthew 16:18) and the call to be agents of common grace (Psalm 24:1), the mission of Crossvine Church is to support people in living spiritually fulfilling lives, serving all with respect and dignity, regardless of their beliefs or sexual orientation. Grounded in the perennial philosophy and interspirituality, our theology transcends divisions between sacred and secular, and points toward a direct experience of the Divine through present moment awareness. In this light, the concept of "worship" is seen to encompass every aspect of daily life (Exodus 3:5), and it is in this context that we perform the sacerdotal duties of the ministry.

The logo of Crossvine Church is the Celtic cross entwined by the crossvine (Bignonia capreolata), a perennial climbing woody vine native to the Central and Southern United States. The Celtic cross represents "the human desire to know and experience the unfolding experience of life [and a] meeting of the Divine energies" (Avia Venifica), while the crossvine's healing properties and orange-red trumpet flowers symbolize the timeless beauty of the Tennessee Valley in which our ministry finds its home.

While Chattanooga Wedding Officiants continues as Crossvine Church's wedding officiant ministry, we now also emphasize a commitment to community service through participation in interfaith events and the creation of senior and homebound pastoral care and prison outreach programs, in addition to offering pastoral counseling and an enhanced array of interfaith ceremonies. Our long-term goal is to found a rural center where people from all faiths might gather for silent retreats and to engage in open dialogue, allowing for new insights into the significance of living to emerge.
