Wedding Ceremonies

Reverend Krissy Ramsey, Ph.D.

We started our wedding officiant ministry, Chattanooga Wedding Officiants, in 2013, and thanks to the overwhelming response we've received from the community, in this short time we've grown to become the area's leading provider of interfaith, non-denominational, and same-sex wedding ceremonies!

We are elopement specialists and are available on short notice. We offer everything from small, intimate ceremonies to the ultimate personalized theme wedding.  We embrace diversity and respect couples of all faiths and none. Our aim is to provide the perfect ceremony for the couple's needs.

We do NOT require couples to have premarital counseling, however, we do offer this service and would encourage you to take note the discount on marriage license fees offered in Tennessee and Georgia for couples who complete a premarital preparation course with a qualified provider.

Dependable and professional with a proven track record, w
e have an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, and reviews and additional photos of our work may be found on our Google Plus, Facebook, and Pinterest pages. Don't leave one of the most important moments of your life to an amateur.

We offer a FREE phone or Skype consultation, or will meet with you for an in-person consultation in Chattanooga (at the Hamilton Place Starbucks) for a $50 consultation fee. We would be honored to make your special day extra memorable, so whether you're getting married today or your wedding is months away, call us now at

Courthouse/Heritage Park Special - $200*

For couples on a budget who are ready to tie the knot in a small, intimate ceremony (fewer than 10 guests), we offer a Basic Christian, Spiritual, Pagan, or Humanist ceremony performed at the Hamilton County Courthouse in Chattanooga for $200. This ceremony is most appropriate for out-of-town couples who are eloping and/or who are in need of immediately obtaining their certificate of marriage. It includes several vow choices (given sufficient time), or couples may use their own vows. These ceremonies are only available Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (excluding holidays when the Courthouse is closed). Click here for marriage license information.

As an alternative to the Courthouse ceremony, we also offer our special rate ceremony at Heritage Park, which is a lovely little park in the East Brainerd community located at 1428 Jenkins Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421.  We meet couples at the Heritage House at the back of the park, and can take cover in the little gazebo or on the Heritage House porch in case of rain.

If considering the Courthouse ceremony, please note that the marriage license fee does not include an officiant to perform the ceremony. Also be aware that Hamilton County does not permit wedding ceremonies to be performed inside the Courthouse, so the ceremony must be performed outside the building on the Courthouse grounds. There is no covered area available in case of rain, so be sure to dress appropriately and bring your umbrella!

Basic Ceremonies - $300*

For couples planning small weddings (less than 15 guests - see note below) we can generally perform our Basic Christian or Spiritual ceremony at other locations up to 20 miles from the Hamilton County Courthouse for $300 (for venues over 20 miles from the Courthouse and/or at more remote locations, see our Terms of Service). This option includes four standard wedding vow choices, or the couple may provide their own vows.

P
opular public outdoor venues for small ceremonies include Coolidge ParkRenaissance ParkWalnut Street BridgeRoss' Landing, and the Tennessee RiverwalkIn the event of inclement weather, the covered Renaissance Park Pavilion at 200 Manufacturers Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405 serve as the backup option for the North Shore area, while the covered public access area of the Hunter Museum and the Maurice Martin Ampitheater serve as the rain backup options for the Downtown side of the river.

Two other nice (and more "off the beaten path") choices for a Basic ceremony, offering a little more privacy than the above, are Greenway Farm and Chester Frost Park. Greenway Farm is a secluded nature conservancy operated by the City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation department, and
located in the Chattanooga suburb of Hixson. The entrance to the park is located next to the Hixson Church of Latter Day Saints at
3010 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tennessee 37343, and features a quaint log cabin with covered porch (featured in the photo immediately above) which serves as the backup plan in case of rain. There is also a very nice clubhouse at Greenway Farm which can be booked for larger weddings. Chester Frost Park is a huge park operated by Hamilton County and located on the banks of Chickamauga Lake in North Hixson. It has miles of beautiful lakefront campgrounds with piers, picnic spots, as well as a pavilion and several large shelters suitable for larger/formal weddings which may be rented for your event (click here for Chester Frost Park facility booking information).

For couples who would prefer to be married atop one of one of our area's majestic mountains, you may want to consider Point Park or Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain, and Signal Point on Signal Mountain. All three spots offer stunningly beautiful vistas of the Tennessee Valley. The downside to these options, however, is that they are very limited with regards to shelter in the event of rain.

Note: Due to the increased logistical issues involved with having more than 15 guests at the above-noted locations without making formal reservations, we recommend that couples planning larger weddings call the City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation at (423) 425-6311 to reserve the spot of their choice. While the City charges a fee to book these venues, please keep in mind that these are public areas, and thus, if not formally reserved, are subject to various situations which may result in the couple's preferred spot not being available for use on their wedding day. You may obtain further information about all City parks and check for currently scheduled events at the park facilities at the above website.

Rock City and Ruby Falls Weddings - $350-$400*

Crossvine Church is delighted to offer wedding ceremonies at
Rock City and Ruby Falls - two of the Chattanooga area's premier natural attractions - for $350 and $400. (For couples planning longer ceremonies at Ruby Falls than their brief 15-20 minute wedding tour or booking the Rock City Pavilion for a formal wedding, our Standard and Personalized ceremony fees will apply, as appropriate, with a $100 fee added due to the more challenging logistics of officiating at these venues). Couples planning larger/formal weddings at Rock City should consider instead booking their sister facility next door, the Grandview.

Standard Ceremonies - $500*

For couples planning larger, more formal weddings (over 15 guests) and/or requiring more customization, we offer the following eight standard ceremonies:
  • Contemporary Spiritual Ceremony - A beautiful ceremony with a mystical flavor, perfect for interfaith and non-denominational weddings.
  • Universal Spiritual Ceremony - A contemporary ceremony with a more universal appeal, suitable for both interfaith and non-religious weddings.
  • Contemporary Promise Ceremony - A lovely ceremony featuring contemporary wording not specific to any religion, but focused on the traditional promises of faithfulness, tenderness, and helpfulness.
  • Traditional Ceremony I - A more traditional and religiously-oriented ceremony.
  • Traditional Ceremony II - A religiously-oriented ceremony with a Unitarian tone and adapted from the Book of Common Prayer.
  • Christian Ceremony I - A reverend and life-serving Christian ceremony that emphasizes Jesus Christ and Christian values within the couples vows and pledges.
  • Christian Ceremony II - Adapted from the Book of Common Prayer, this is a specifically Christian ceremony perfect for a couple belonging to a denomination that emphasizes the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Christian Ceremony III - Similar to Christian Ceremony I, but features the officiant, bride, groom, and guests all reciting the Lord's Prayer together during the Invocation.
Vows and elements from any of the above Standard ceremonies may be combined, and the wording modified to reflect the beliefs of the couple. In addition, the couple may provide their own ceremony template or insert any special readings/parts of the ceremony (e.g. sand ceremony, candle-lighting ceremony, handfasting ceremony, etc.) they may want to have included in the ceremony. The couple receives the initial draft of their ceremony within 48 hours, and works with the officiant by email until the ceremony meets their approval. Couple may book the officiant for a 1-hour rehearsal (subject to availability) for an additional $150.

Personalized Ceremonies and Theme Weddings - Starting at $800*

For couples desiring a more unique matrimonial experience, we will craft a Personalized ceremony for you, with fees starting at $800. This option is most appropriate for larger weddings (more than 60 guests) that are at least two months away and for couples who are motivated to actively engage with the officiant in the ceremony creation process. Personalized ceremonies include many additional vow choices, alternative sections, and additional guidance/editing by the officiant to ensure the perfect text.

Theme weddings, by contrast, offer the ultimate in ceremony creativity and revolve around a specific theme (e.g. historical periods, science-fiction/fantasy movies, etc.) chosen by the couple. The couple is responsible for providing the officiant with any required costumes, props, etc., that may be required for her to perform her role in the ceremony.

Because the demands on the officiant for both Theme and Personalized ceremonies vary widely, a fee quote will be given to the couple following an assessment of their needs. The fee for the Personalized/Theme Wedding ceremony service includes a copy of a very helpful wedding planning workbook. The couple may book the officiant for a 1-hour rehearsal (subject to availability) for an additional $150.
